Rosa Newman is 8 years old and was adopted
by Wendy, a single mother working in the arts.
They live near Vancouver’s Chinatown.

In the small farming community of Sherrington,Quebec Carole and Jean-Yves Lohe live with their four adopted children from China. Mireille and Eve-Maryse are both ten years old, and their adopted brothers Christian and Louis-Philippe are among the few boys who are adopted out of China. They are 8 years old. The entire family is returning to China to visit each of the children’s foster parents, as well as the orphanages where they spent the first few months of their lives.

ShaLi LeBlanc is thirteen years old, and one of the oldest Chinese adoptees in Canada. Her parents, Jasmine Deslauriere and Jean-Bernard LeBlanc were unsuccessful in having their own children and adopted ShaLi when she was three years old. They live in Longuieul, a suburb just outside of Montreal. They also adopted a son, Yo-an, from Thailand, who is eight years old.

LiMa Roy is 9 years old and lives in Trois Rivieres with her two adopted sisters LiQi who is 8 and LiJjian who is 5. Christine Johnson and Andre Roy began adopting later in life, and are in the process of adopting a fourth daughter.

Annie Luke is 5 years old and was adopted by Julia Loo and Philip Luke after giving birth to their first child Asia and discovering they were unable to have another. They are a mixed race family, and live in Comox on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

In St. John’s Newfoundland, Kathy Alexander and Peter Alteen live with 4 year old Susan Alteen whom they adopted when she was 9 months old.

Dawson, a single mother and lawyer adopted JinJi
when she was 5 months old. Jinji is currently a year and a
half old, and they both live in St. John’s Newfoundland.
